The demands of Cyberpunk 2077's Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode was already teased last week as part of a 4K Technology Preview Reveal that saw a GeForce RTX 4090 delivering anywhere from 16 to 34 FPS in the game at 4K, and while DLSS 3 is capable of boosting those frame rates to over 100 FPS, Bella's comments provide further insight into just how serious and demanding path tracing is. Some have labeled Cyberpunk 2077's Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode as the new Crysis, while NVIDIA critics say that this is just another one of Jensen's schemes to sell more GPUs every cycle. Cyberpunk 2077's Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode technology preview will roll out on April 11.

Lucasfilm has announced that it is developing three new Star Wars movies, and while one of them will see the return of Rey Skywalker, once again played by Daisy Ridley, not everyone seems to think it was a great idea. Is it time for NVIDIA users to start saving for a GeForce RTX 5090 already? According to sources with RedGamingTech, the GeForce RTX 50 Series, which is said to leverage NVIDIA's new "Blackwell" architecture, will offer anywhere from 2x to 2.6x better performance than the current generation of Ada Lovelace graphics cards. Leaker @kopite7kimi has additionally reported that NVIDIA's Blackwell GPUs won't be manufactured on TSMC's 3-nanometer process, as other recent rumors have suggested, but if the rest of the specifications prove to be true, GeForce RTX 50 Series users can expect GDDR7 memory, PCIe Gen 5.0, and, expectedly, even better ray tracing performance, including a GB120 GPU that clocks at over 3 GHz.

HardwareUnboxed has published a 26-game "ultimate analysis" that suggests NVIDIA GeForce users should rarely pick AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 over NVIDIA DLSS 2 for their upsampling needs. EA and Respawn Entertainment have released a final gameplay trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor ahead of the game's release on April 28, 2023. The new trailer shows off the game's gorgeous visuals, and while it also demonstrates Cal Kestis doing some of his usual Jedi stuff, an interview with Star Wars Jedi series director Stig Asmussen has revealed that Lucasfilm was initially against Respawn Entertainment using Jedi in its games, going so far as to request the main character be changed into a bounty hunter or smuggler. "They were really uncomfortable with Jedi, and they said, 'Let's reset this. Let's call this character a Force user,'" revealed Asmussen, who claimed he was going to walk away from the project if he had to make a shooter game instead of one focused on melee combat.

Capcom has released a new update for Resident Evil Village that removes Denuvo from the 2021 survival horror game. The release of the update can be confirmed via SteamDB, whose listing for Resident Evil Village now includes a change about third-party DRM in the form of Denuvo anti-tamper having been removed on April 10, 2023. Digital Foundry shared a video in July 2021 that demonstrated how the cracked version of Resident Evil Village, which lacked copy protection, played much better, with smoother combat, and while Capcom had already released a PC performance patch to address Resident Evil Village's "weird" performance on PC some time ago, the game should now run better than ever.

Photos, Frame Generation benchmarks for 1440p ray-traced gaming, and a generational comparison for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 have surfaced online ahead of the GPU's release this week on Thursday, April 13. According to the comparison, the GeForce RTX 4070 will cost $599 and offer 1.2x and 1.3x better performance than the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070, respectively, while the Frame Generation benchmarks allude to big gains with the DLSS 3 feature enabled in games that include Forza Horizon 5 and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
