Power and Temp
In the graph we are comparing total system Wattage at the wall, results are in Watts. As you look at the power numbers above remember how the video cards actually lineup in terms of price. Lower power is preferred.
Naturally the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti FE consumes the most power, it also smashes the other cards in performance. Otherwise, the new GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE consumes about 3% more power than the GeForce RTX 2080 FE. Performance wise it is 5-12% faster on performance, therefore it consumes less power than the performance advantage it provides. This makes it a very power efficient video card.
The AMD Radeon VII consumes as much power as the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE, but was always much slower than it. It is not a power efficient video card.
Remember, these are all Founders Edition and reference card designs. The Radeon VII actually runs coolest, but also performs the slowest. Both the GeForce RTX 2080 FE and RTX 2080 SUPER FE run at the same temp, very impressive since the RTX 2080 SUPER FE is faster in performance. The RTX 2080 Ti runs the warmest, but rightly so. Noise is also not an issue with the GeForce RTX video cards. However, it was noticeable on the AMD Radeon VII.
