GPU Clock Speeds

The new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE video card has a base clock of 1650MHz and a boost clock of 1815MHz.  As is typical GPU Boost will auto-overclock past the boost clock, so let’s see what it ended up being with our Founders Edition video card.

Graph of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU Boost Clock Speed

Well this result is very good!  GPU Boot boosted our card to a top speed of 1980MHz, but of course this wasn’t held consistently while gaming.  We had a good minimum clock speed though at 1920MHz while gaming.  That means while we were gaming, we never saw it drop below 1920MHz.  The average while gaming was around 1930MHz.  That is much higher than the quoted 1815MHz boost clock, and this is the Founders Edition.  Custom cards with custom cooling might even perform better, and overclock better.  One thing is for sure, these GPUs are running very high clock speeds.
