Power and Temp
In the first graph we are comparing total system Wattage at the wall, results are in Watts. In the second graph, we are comparing GPU temperature in Celsius. The ambient temperature at the time of testing was 70F.
The GeForce RTX 2070 FE is the slowest video card in this lineup, and its power numbers reflect that with the least amount of power draw. The GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition does consume more power, but it is a lot faster as well. At 375W though, it isn’t bad.
The ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2070 SUPER O8G GAMING also consumes more power than the Founders Edition. It does perform faster, but the power isn’t out of whack, it doesn’t demand a lot relatively speaking. Overclocking the video card takes it to above 400W, but even that isn’t a crazy amount.
The cooling device on the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2070 SUPER O8G works extremely well for this GPU. The Founders Edition hits 72c, and the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2070 SUPER O8G hits only 61c. This is in performance mode; you can switch to silent mode if you want the fans quieter then they already are. With the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2070, SUPER O8G GAMING overclocked at 70% fan speed the GPU temp is only around 53-56c depending if voltage is applied.
There is no question that the cooling on this video card is more than capable for this GPU. It is not holding this GPU back in any way due to temperature. It is robust and more than enough to keep this video cool.
