Default GPU Frequency
Before we dive into overclocking, we always test what the default GPU frequency is while gaming. This way we can see where we are starting from and make sure the GPU is performing as it should be by default.
On this video card, the boost clock is set at 1650MHz.
GPU Frequency
As you can see, this video card is boosting well over the quoted 1650MHz frequency the card is set at. It starts out at a real high frequency in the upper 1900’s but then does fall over the course of a few minutes down to where it settles.
It seems to settle around the 1770-1790MHz range. Taking the average of all the frequencies seen here on the graph it comes out to 1803MHz. That isn’t really realistic to where it settles though, that average is offset by the very high frequencies it starts off at. The settled frequency as you can see is really around 1770-1790MHz, so we’d say the real average is more like 1780Mhz while gaming. This is still well above the 1650MHz boost clock, so you are getting very high GPU frequencies out-of-the-box.
