Test Setup
Please read our GPU Test Bench and Benchmarking Refresher for an explanation on our test system, procedures and goals. Note that since the writing of that article, we have since further upgraded our CPU to a Ryzen 7 5800X now. More information on our GPU testing can be found here. We have brand new fresh data on the latest drivers at the time of writing, NVIDIA GeForce 471.11 across the board, and AMD Adrenalin 21.6.2. Resizable BAR is turned ON in the BIOS.
For our video card comparisons, we are using a GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 GAMING OC video card. This video card has a factory overclock that boosts it over the reference NVIDIA boost clock on the Founders Edition. This will be a good test to see how the RTX 3080 Ti compares to an RTX 3090, and when we overclock it if it exceeds the RTX 3090 performance. In addition, we are including an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT built by AMD video card as a comparison point.
