Gameplay Performance 1440p

On this page, we will show all 1440p game graphs, if you wish to see 1080p game graphs go to the previous page. These pages will be long, so make sure to scroll through to the bottom. We are also including Ray Tracing testing in the games that support it on these pages, without DLSS or FSR. However, we have a dedicated page on the next page that includes FSR and DLSS performance as well to take that into consideration.

Metro Exodus Enhanced

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Metro Exodus Enhanced 1440p Game Performance Graph

Ray Tracing is always turned on with Metro Exodus Enhanced. At 1440p it puts on the hurt on performance, the XFX RX 6600 XT is simply not playable at the highest game settings, and neither is the GeForce RTX 3060 or 3060 Ti without DLSS. From this, we can see performance is under the RTX 3060, even overclocked.

Cyberpunk 2077

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Cyberpunk 2077 1440p Game Performance Graph

At 1440p and “Ultra” settings, this game is unplayable on everything, including the XFX MERC 308 RX 6600 XT Black video card. It’s interesting though, even at this intense setting for these cards it is on par performance-wise with the GeForce RTX 3060 and Radeon RX 5700 XT. It’s not tanking like it is extremely bottlenecked, they all seem to be equally bottlenecked. We also get an uplift by overclocking it by 8%. Therefore, it’s not playable, but it’s also not hitting a bottleneck wall as we might have thought at 1440p. The XFX RX 6600 XT is 28% faster than the XFX RX 5600 XT.

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Cyberpunk 2077 1440p Ray Tracing Game Performance Graph

We knew turning on “Medium” Ray Tracing would kill performance, but we had to try it just to try it. Sure enough, it’s unplayable on everything without some kind of help like DLSS or FSR or something, it’s so bottlenecked overclocking didn’t help.

Godfall

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Godfall 1440p Game Performance Graph

Godfall is surprisingly very playable at 1440p with “Epic” Quality Preset. The XFX MERC 308 RX 6600 XT Black is 5% faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT and 17% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 which is pretty big. Overclocking it improves performance by 10%. It is not bottlenecked or being held back at all at 1440p in this game. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is of course still faster, as it has been. The XFX RX 6600 XT is 43% faster than the XFX RX 5600 XT.

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Godfall 1440p Ray Tracing Game Performance Graph

We are surprised again how well the game actually does perform with Ray Tracing also enabled at 1440p. It’s not exactly the best performance, but 50FPS isn’t horrible like you think it would be at 1440p with Ray Tracing on the XFX MERC 308 RX 6600 XT Black. Overclocking didn’t seem to help performance though, indicating there might now be some sort of bottleneck with Ray Tracing enabled. We do find the GeForce RTX 3060 to be slightly faster though, and the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti runs away with the performance.

Dirt 5

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Dirt 5 1440p Game Performance Graph

Dirt 5 is another game that is surprisingly playable at 1440p with “Ultra High” settings on the XFX MERC 308 RX 6600 XT Black video card at 74FPS. It’s upwards of the Radeon RX 5700 XT, and 18% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060, which is pretty big. Overclocking even makes a big impact. The XFX RX 6600 XT is 24% faster than the XFX RX 5600 XT.

Watch Dogs Legion

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Watch Dogs Legion 1440p Game Performance Graph

In Watch Dogs Legion performance isn’t as bad as we thought it would be, about 51FPS on the XFX MERC 308 RX 6600 XT Black video card. This is on par with Radeon RX 5700 XT performance and 9% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060. Overclocking helps a bit, but the RTX 3060 Ti is faster. The XFX RX 6600 XT is 38% faster than the XFX RX 5600 XT.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 1440p Game Performance Graph

1440p puts the hurt on these video cards in MS Flight Sim 2020. The XFX MERC 308 RX 6600 XT Black does better than the Radeon RX 5000 series GPUs for sure, it’s 6% faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT and 29% faster than the XFX RX 5600 XT. However, the GeForce RTX 3060 is just slightly faster, until you overclock the RX 6600 XT. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti really takes it away in performance though, offering a night and day difference.

Horizon Zero Dawn

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Horizon Zero Dawn 1440p Game Performance Graph

Horizon Zero Dawn is another game that is playable at 1440p with the highest settings on the XFX MERC 308 RX 6600 XT Black video card. It is not bottlenecking here. It’s on par with the Radeon RX 5700 XT and GeForce RTX 3060. The Geforce RTX 3060 Ti is of course a world different apart, but overclocking the RX 6600 XT brings performance up by 8%. The XFX RX 6600 XT is 36% faster than the XFX RX 5600 XT.

Red Dead Redemption 2

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Red Dead Redemption 2 1440p Game Performance Graph

Red Dead Redemption 2 is not playable at 1440p with the highest in-game settings. Only the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is at playable levels. However, the XFX MERC 308 RX 6600 XT Black is at the top compared to the other video cards. It’s slightly faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT and is 5% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060. The XFX RX 6600 XT is 32% faster than the XFX RX 5600 XT.

Wolfenstein Youngblood

XFX SPEEDSTER MERC 308 Radeon RX 6600 XT Black Wolfenstein Youngblood 1440p Game Performance Graph

Wolfenstein Youngblood is playable at 1440p with the highest in-game settings on the XFX MERC 308 RX 6600 XT Black video card. It’s faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT, but the GeForce RTX 3060 is faster until we overclock it. The XFX RX 6600 XT is 42% faster than the XFX RX 5600 XT.
