Please read our GPU Test Bench and Benchmarking Refresher for an explanation on our test system, procedures and goals.  Note that since the writing of that article, we have since further upgraded our CPU to a Ryzen 7 5800X.  More information on our GPU testing can be found here.  Check out our KIT page where you can see all the components in our test system configuration for reviewing video cards.

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Overclocked System Setup

We are using the motherboard’s current default BIOS settings.  We have enabled PCI-Express Resizable BAR in the motherboard BIOS so that is enabled for NVIDIA GPUs and AMD Smart Access Memory is enabled for AMD GPUs.

For our video card comparison today, we are using a made-by AMD reference Radeon RX 6800 XT to make comparisons.  We are also using a GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 GAMING OC video card for comparison as well.  You can check out the review of that video card to learn all about it.  We are using the latest drivers at the time of testing, which was AMD Adrenalin 21.8.1 dated 8/10/2021 and NVIDIA GeForce 471.41 dated 7/19/2021.
