Conclusion

Our review today looks at the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3060Ti AMP White Edition.  In addition to having a lengthy name, this is a very capable video card. In the 3060Ti category at ZOTAC, this is as good as it gets. The card has a distinctive shape, size, and color. It comes overclocked out of the box and as you can see, you can go a lot higher.  The backplate is sturdy and wraps around to the front a bit.  ZOTAC has chosen to light only the front quarter of the card with white LEDs.

Performance

We were able to play every game in our suite at 1440p using the ZOTAC GAMING RTX 3060Ti AMP.

Adding Ray Tracing did require lowering the resolution to 1080p in three of the most demanding games.

That being said, this video card was very close to making 1440p possible in RayTracing in all games.  Remember, the games were being run at their maximum graphics settings otherwise.

Looking at many reviews online our video card is very close to the performance of a RTX 3070 in many cases.

F1 2002 is our newest game to evaluate video cards.  The ZOTAC GAMING RTX 3060Ti had very good results at 1440p.

Our performance in Dying Light 2 was excellent and even better with DLSS.  The game is beautiful. Beauty can be harsh though. The resolution needs to be adjusted to 1080p for Ray Tracing.

Forza Horizon 5 was smooth and enjoyable at custom high settings.

FarCry 6 is a splendid game graphically at 1440p.  The game was smooth and Ray Tracing reflections were very realistic.

Cyberpunk 2077 is another beast.  We had to adjust the resolution for Ray Tracing, but in the same breath, testing showed that 1440p is almost reachable.  Still, the visuals are amazing with Ray Tracing even at “low”.

Watch Dogs Legion was nicely playable at 1440p.  Not so with Ray Tracing unless adjusted down. However, keep in mind that Ray Tracing was at “ultra”.  The reflections are amazing.

Overclocking

The ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3060Ti AMP overclocked to the highest level we were able to find researching a number of reviews. With +150 adjustment the final boost clock was 355MHz over the factory set clock, a 20% jump.  This value was 8% better than the default boost.

In order to keep the card cool, we had to push the fans to near 100%.

ZOTAC Firestorm is a nice software to use for overclocking.  It was easy to use and ZOTAC provides good instructions.  The only issue with it is fine-tuning the fans.  The adjustments for memory and core clocks are done simply by typing in a value.  The fans have to be adjusted by mouse pointer and the gauges are just not cooperative.  Firestorm also includes monitoring and RBG in the same software.

Final Points

The ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3060Ti AMP White Edition is a great choice for gaming at 1440p.

Once again, DLSS makes a huge difference and allows this card to push the highest graphic settings. Remember that this video card can also make use of FSR if DLSS is not an option.

The video card is very receptive to overclocking and will gain 8% or higher performance.  It comes with a very nice factory overclock as well.

This video card looks great, and has a sturdy feel, a slotted metal backplate, and a really long name.

Currently, you can purchase this video card on the ZOTAC website or Newegg for $499, a premium over the MSRP, but worth a hard look considering what you get.

PROs: Good looks, strong overclocks, great for 1440p gaming, smaller size (SFF?).

CONs: Price, PCIe connectors are difficult to place due to backplate cut-outs, and can’t quite make 1440p Ray Tracing in every game.
