Gameplay Performance at 1440p
On this page, we are going to focus on the 1440p gameplay performance with the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC video card. We will include DLSS and FSR performance on the same graph in the games that are supported. We will use DLSS on NVIDIA GPUs and FSR on AMD GPUs. Ray Tracing performance will be shown on a separate page. For video card comparisons we are using a GeForce RTX 3090 Ti FE, GeForce RTX 3090 FE, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FE, and Radeon RX 7900 XT.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.0
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.0 was released on October 27, 2022, on the PC and uses the IW 9.0 gaming engine. The game supports all upscaling methods, including NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA Image Scaling, AMD FSR 1.0, AMD Fidelity FX CAS, and Intel XeSS. We use the highest quality option of each. We customize every graphics setting to the maximum value for the best image quality and enable everything. We use the built-in benchmark.
1440p is a more reasonable resolution for these video cards, and so we specifically wanted to make sure we show this resolution and what these cards are capable of at 1440p. At 1440p, in Call of Duty Modern Warfare with maximum settings the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC allows a more than playable experience at 128FPS, so you can enjoy 120Hz gaming without needing upscaling.
At 1440p, the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC has a wider margin, over the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in performance. Here, it is 9% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti and 20% faster than the GeForce RTX 3090. The uplift coming from the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is 58% faster. At 1440p, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT takes the cake, and is the fastest card and ends up being a big 32% faster than the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC video card. Overclocking the ASUS TUF 4070 Ti adds 8% to performance. DLSS also adds 34% to performance and brings it to around 180FPS at 1440p.
F1 2022
F1 2022 was released on June 28th, 2022 on the PC and uses Codemasters Ego engine. The game supports Ray Tracing, DLSS, AMD FidelityFX, and FSR. We are going to run the game with the highest quality settings of “Ultra High” and TAA+FidelityFX. We will enable DLSS and FSR as needed at the Quality setting for both. We will utilize the built-in benchmark in the Imola track, in dry conditions with a far-chasing cam.
In F1 2022, at 1440p the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC allows a playable experience at over 200FPS, and that is just pure smoothness and good gaming. The performance, though, seems to scale closer to the GeForce RTX 3090, than it does the RTX 3090 Ti. The ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING is just 3% faster than the RTX 3090, but 9% slower than the RTX 3090 Ti. The uplift from the RTX 3070 Ti is 35%. The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT is the fastest card here and outperforms the ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti OC by 15%. Overclocking the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC improves performance by 4% at 1440p. DLSS takes you past 250FPS.
Dying Light 2
Dying Light 2 was released in February 2022 on the PC and uses Techland’s C-Engine. The game supports Ray Tracing, DLSS and FSR2. We use the built-in preset to set “HIGH QUALITY” which sets the highest game graphics, without Ray Tracing. We manually enable DX12 and ASYNC Compute. We use the built-in benchmark.
In Dying Light 2, you will be able to play this game at the highest settings at 1440p on the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC at 146FPS, and it is very playable. This game does a little better for the RTX 4070 Ti at 1440p. Here we find it is 9% faster than the RTX 3090, but it is still 2% slower than the RTX 3090 Ti, even at 1440p. The ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC is 2% faster than the Radeon RX 7900 XT, but that is so close they might as well be the same, it’s the same gameplay experience. Compared to the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti the ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4070 Ti OC is 46% faster. Overclocking adds 7% to performance and is now faster than the RTX 3090 Ti.
Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December of 2020 and uses the REDengine 4. We have the game patched to version 1.61 and utilize the built-in benchmark. We test using the Graphics Preset option to set graphics settings, mainly “Ultra”. This game supports DLSS and FSR2.
In Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p and “Ultra” settings you will be able to play at over 100FPS with the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC, which is a very playable and enjoyable gameplay experience. The performance is 9% faster than the RTX 3090 and 6% slower than the RTX 3090 Ti. Compared to the RTX 3070 Ti it is 46% faster. At 1440p in this game, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT is the fastest video card and is 12% faster than the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC. Overclocking adds 7% to performance, but it is still 5% slower than the Radeon RX 7900 XT.
Watch Dogs Legion
Watch Dogs Legion was released on the PC in October of 2020 and uses the Disrupt game engine. We utilize the built-in benchmark for testing. We have the HD Texture pack installed and enabled for testing. We use the built-in graphics preset of “Ultra” for testing. This game supports DLSS upscaling.
In Watch Dogs Legion at 1440p with “Ultra” settings, the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC is very playable at 120FPS. In this game, it is 5% faster than the RTX 3090 Ti and 15% faster than the RTX 3090, and 52% faster than the RTX 3070 Ti. The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT is faster by 15%. Overclocking the video card improves performance by 6%, but it is still 9% slower than the Radeon RX 7900 XT. DLSS adds performance, and that allows it to match the Radeon RX 7900 XT in performance.
