ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4070 Ti O12G-GAMING

The ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC video card will have an MSRP of $849.99.  ASUS will also offer a non ‘OC’ version of the TUF 12G that will retail at the $799.99 MSRP if you want to save a little money, you can always overclock yourself since it is the TUF version.  Above the TUF, ASUS will have two STRIX versions, a STRIX 12G and a STRIX O12G model, the STRIX 12G will retail for $949.99 and the STRIX O12G will retail for $1,049.99.

The ASUS TUF RTX 4070 Ti O12G GAMING version we have has a factory overclock boost clock from ASUS already set.  The factory overclock is set at 2730MHz up from the reference 2610MHz.  This gives it a 4.5% bump to the clock speed from the reference spec.  The 12GB GDDR6X memory runs at the default 21GHz.

The ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC GAMING video card has a triple-fan axial design using ASUS 11-blade Axial-Tech fans. It is using a unibody die-cast shroud and aluminum backplate with a wide vent.  It uses long-life military-grade capacitors, dual ball fan bearings, and an Auto-Extreme manufacturing process to ensure long-term reliability.  There is only a dash of ASUS Aura ARGB lighting on the top of the video card through the redesigned TUF logo.  You can customize this RGB with software.  This video card supports ASUS GPU Tweak III for hardware tweaking and monitoring.

The ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC GAMING video card measures 12” in length, 5” in width, and 2.5” in height.  We recommend having 3 free slots for it, it is technically a 3.25-slot video card.  Compared to the GeForce RTX 4080 Founders Edition, it is practically the same size in all dimensions.  It seems narrower at first, until you realize the top plastic shroud sticks out at the top, on the back, making it the same width practically, as the RTX 4080 FE.

The video card supports a Dual-BIOS, and the video card is in the Performance position by default, which is what we tested in. The ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC GAMING video card uses the 12VHPWR connector, which is a full 16-pins.  In the box is an adapter that connects to it and splits off into two 8-pin PCIe power connectors if you do not have the new 12VHPWR connector or ATX 3.0 power supply.  Make sure to plug it in all the way!  Push hard!

The ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC has 2x HDMI and 3x DisplayPorts for a wide array of display options and expandability.

SUMMARY

We reviewed the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC video card, putting it up against the competition at 4K, 1440p, with and without Ray Tracing and DLSS. Performance was strong at 1440p, and with Ray Tracing and DLSS, though it starts to fall off in performance as you approach 4K. It offers a good performance upgrade from the previous generation, but the overall price point for this class of GPU has risen to new heights as well. It is an excellent build by ASUS, and the power effeciency is second to none.
