Motherboard Performance
Testing the MSI PRO B550M-P was accomplished using the benchmarks below. The following components were used: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB at 3600MT/s (CMK16GX4M2Z3600C18), TEAMGROUP T-FORCE GR PRO Airflow 2TB Gen5 NVME, and the ASRock RX 7600 XT Steel Legend 16G OC graphics card. We also used the ADATA SX8100NP Gen3 NVME to test the M.2_2 slot. Comparison results are discussed from the review of the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3DÂ located here, the MSI B550 GAMING WiFi6E located here and the MSI PRO B550M-P WiFi6E located here.
The performance here on all benchmarks is a mirror image of the MSI PRO B550M-P WiFi6E. Likewise, the scores are identical when compared to the B550 GAMING WiFi6E, as expected. These refreshed AM4 motherboards hold their own on all benchmarks. There were no surprises and no issues encountered.
VRM Temperatures
In this test, we ran Cinebench R23 multicore for a minimum of 20 minutes and then recorded the temperatures across the mosfets using HWInfo64. The CPU temperatures reached a maximum of 71.5C, 100% utilization, and 4312MHz. VRM temperatures averaged 57C. There was no thermal throttling, and no stability issues were encountered. That’s pretty amazing given this board has no VRM heatsinks.
