Gaming Performance (Al-Do)
In our game performance testing, we are utilizing an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 FE video card. We are running each game at 1080p, Native Resolution, and we are using mostly the highest game settings. However, in Clair Obscur, we have lowered the game settings. We are using manual in-game run-throughs for each game and reporting the average FPS and 1% Lows. It is important to note the 1% Lows in many instances, especially in those where the AVG is close; the 1% Lows may not be. All games are running the latest versions. All graphs are organized from fastest to slowest, and the Ryzen 7 7700X3D is highlighted in orange.
Alan Wake 2
In Alan Wake 2, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D does very well, coming in the middle of the pack, definitely not the slowest, and we can see it sits just under the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, as it should. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D allows faster performance than the Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 7 7700 in gaming. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is 4% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X and 6% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700. The 1% Lows are slightly stronger. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is a bit slower than the Ryzen 7 9700X; however, it is 1% slower on average and also 3% slower in 1% Lows. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is 4% slower than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D on AVG and 6% slower in 1% Lows.
Battlefield 6
In Battlefield 6, the “X3D” CPUs all come out on top, even faster than the Ryzen 7 9700X, by a good margin, especially the 1% Low performance. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is 5% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X, 6% faster than the Ryzen 7 9700X, and 8% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700. More impressively, the 1% Lows are 8%+ faster on the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is only 1% behind the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, but the 1% Lows are 5% behind.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 the Ryzen 7 7700X3D is also very strong, but this time the Ryzen 7 9700X catches up and it performs the same on average, and has slightly faster 1% Lows. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is 2% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X and 4% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700. The 1% Lows are about 5% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 7 7700. The Ryzen 7 9700X though has 1% Lows that are 3% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X3D. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is only 3% behind the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and 6% on 1% Lows.
Crimson Desert
The two “X3D” CPUs come out on top in Crimson Desert, allowing much smoother 1% Lows here as well. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is 3% faster than the Ryzen 7 9700X, 8% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X, and 9% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700. The 1% Lows are a very impressive 14% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 7 7700X, and 7% faster than the Ryzen 7 9700X. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is only 2% behind the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, but the Ryzen 7 7800X3D has 1% Lows that are 8% faster.
Cyberpunk 2077
The two “X3D” CPUs also do really well in Cyberpunk 2077, offering the best performance and better 1% Low performance that makes a difference. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is 10% faster than the Ryzen 7 9700X, 11% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X and 13% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700. The 1% Lows are 8% faster than the 9700X and 7700X. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is 7% behind the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 6% on the 1% Lows.
Doom: The Dark Ages
Once again, the two “X3D” CPUs come out on top here, though the Ryzen 7 9700X is an upgrade over the Ryzen 7 7700X as well. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is 2% faster than the Ryzen 7 9700X, 9% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X, and 10% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700. The 1% Lows are 6% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is 3% behind the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and slightly faster on 1% Lows.
