Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Note that in all the graphs the video cards are compared by price. The most expensive video card by MSRP is on top, while the least expensive video card by MSRP is on bottom. In this way you can compare pricing from bottom to top and see where performance lies.
In the graph we are using the latest version of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The game is running in DX12 and we have all of the in-game settings at their maximum values for graphics. We are using the built-in benchmark for testing results and we verified playability in gameplay. Feel free to test your video cards performance and see how it compares against ours.

At 1440p we have the highest form of SMAA enabled here, SMAA 4X. SMAA 4X is quite hard on graphics card, it’s a very intense effect. The AMD Radeon VII seems to suffer greatly with this method on, for that video card you will have to turn down AA to SMAA 2TX to be playable at 1440p. The NVIDIA GPUs though at RTX 2080 FE and above are all playable with this setting. The GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE is 12% faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 FE! That’s the highest result we’ve experienced in these games. This really shows that the performance difference between the two cards matters most with the game. It can be so different from game to game, but the potential can be this much between them.

At 4K we lowered the AA setting to SMAA 2TX, as it was just too demanding at SMAA 4X at 4K for all cards. Now the AMD Radeon VII fairs better with the lower AA setting. It is close to GeForce RTX 2080 FE performance in this game. The new GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE is 7% faster than the RTX 2080 FE. It seems the SMAA 4X setting is what was making the RTX 2080 SUPER FE perform 12% faster than the RTX 2080 FE at 1440p.

Once again, we wanted to test Ray Tracing performance so here is the Shadow Ray Tracing turned to Ultra. The GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FE is 10% faster than the RTX 2080 FE. In this test we turned down AA to SMAA 2TX because performance was too demanding with SMAA 4X and Ultra Ray Tracing enabled at the same time. This still proves that the RTX 2080 SUPER FE is faster than the RTX 2080 FE when Ray Tracing is enabled.
