Gears 5

The built-in benchmark is being used in the game for the performance below.  The default “Ultra” graphics setting is being used.  The game runs in DX12 on all cards, and to match the viewport at the right resolution we set the desktop to 1440p so that the game runs everything at the right resolution we are testing since there is no exclusive full-screen option.  We also have the Ultra HD Texture Pack installed.

GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER

Similar to Call of Duty there is a difference here, but again it doesn’t follow the same formula.  In this graph, we see that Adaptive is slowest at 84FPS and Optimal and Prefer Maximum are 2-FPS faster.  This benchmark is built-in, so there isn’t variance from a manual run-through.  Again, this isn’t a major difference, but interesting, and we just don’t really know why it is happening.

GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER

On the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER we see no differences at all between the power modes.  All power modes are performing the same.
