As you read through all of our game performance, keep in mind what we said on the test setup page about how the comparisons relate. In regards to the GeForce RTX 2070 FE look to see how close the ASUS DUAL RTX 2070 MINI OC is in performance, and if it can overcome the FE’s performance while overclocked. What we are looking for is to make sure the ASUS DUAL RTX 2070 MINI is not being held back by its small form factor size.
In regards to the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT performance, no matter how they compare, keep in mind that there are no small Radeon RX 5700 XT’s that can fit into the same places as the ASUS DUAL RTX 2070 MINI OC. Having the Radeon RX 5700 XT here is just about comparing gaming performance since they are similarly priced if size didn’t matter. But for AMD, there is nothing as powerful as the Radeon RX 5700 XT that can fit into the same small sizes as the ASUS DUAL RTX 2070 MINI can.
In Red Dead Redemption 2 we used the in-game benchmark to gather data. We started at 1440p with custom “High” settings in the game. This is not the highest in-game settings, trying to run “Ultra” at 1440p is too much for these video cards.
The ASUS DUAL RTX 2070 O8G MINI pulls off 53FPS average, which is playable. It is just slightly slower than the GeForce RTX 2070 FE, they are very close in performance and what we are seeing makes perfect sense. Overclocking the ASUS DUAL RTX 2070 O8G MINI improves performance by 8% in this game. That brings performance well over the GeForce RTX 2070 FE and on par with AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT performance. The important part here is that the small form factor isn’t hampering performance, and you can achieve Radeon RX 5700 XT performance in this game by overclocking.
We also tested at 1080p but now with “Ultra” settings to show that the game can be playable with the highest settings at 1080p. Scaling is exactly what we’d expect from playing at 1440p. Overclocking the ASUS DUAL RTX 2070 O8G MINI improves performance by 9%.
What’s important at both resolutions is that the ASUS DUAL RTX 2070 O8G MINI is allowing a high level of gameplay performance and can keep up with the rest. It performs exactly like it should with its 1650MHz factory overclock. Overclocking it boosts it over RTX 2070 FE performance. In this game, the Radeon RX 5700 XT is a little faster, but again there is no Radeon RX 5700 XT that can fit in form factors as small as this video card can. The performance it offers then is very competitive.
