Gaming Benchmarks

These benchmarks do not represent real-world gameplay by any stretch of the imagination. These tests are conducted using built-in benchmarking tools utilizing the game engine. These tests are designed to stress the CPU’s power system as well as ensure proper functionality. These are all run at CPU limited resolutions to try our best to remove the video card as a bottleneck.

One additional note about gaming performance is that these are average values. They do not tell the whole story. Specifically, Destiny 2’s low’s and high’s help tell a very different story than what the average reports are.

3DMark 10

3DMark

The weird thing about ASUS’ motherboards is that they usually falter slightly on application benchmarks, but end up pretty much running the tables on all the gaming benchmarks. This isn’t the case with 3D Mark 10 as you can see. The scores are pretty abysmal and fall well below that of our other test systems. I have a theory on that, which I’ll touch on in the conclusion section.

Heaven

Again, we see slightly below par results from our testing. The results are only slightly behind which ordinarily wouldn’t concern me, but it’s been consistent in most of the testing.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

This is more in line with what I expected. In the gaming tests, ASUS’ PRIME X570 Pro shows a nice lead over the competition. This is normal for ASUS motherboards when it comes to gaming performance. That said, these results are all largely academic as these are intentionally CPU limited results.

Hitman 2 (2019)

Hitman 2

Here, we see more excellent game performance from ASUS’ PRIME X570 Pro.

Destiny 2

Destiny 2

Unsurprisingly, Destiny 2 has been getting better on the AMD platform as drivers and firmware have matured for it. Additionally, ASUS usually has a secret sauce when it comes to gaming benchmarks, and that makes for some outstanding results.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ghost Recon has had a massive update, so in the interest of full disclosure, the results from the ASUS PRIME X570 Pro really aren’t necessarily comparable to earlier versions. The data is provided as a reference. That said, you can see the Prime X570 Pro falls well short of the other test platforms here. I’m not sure if this is due to the update, or due to the hardware. I’m inclined to believe the former due to the generally solid performance in games from ASUS here.
