AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT – RX 9060 XT 8GB
All of the manual in-game run-throughs below are utilizing our “GPU-Oriented” run, which takes place in the open world, between villages, with heavy foliage along the path. All graphics settings are utilizing the “Epic” graphics preset, and NVIDIA Reflex is turned on. With the DLSS testing, we are using the in-game DLSS Quality upscaling setting. The graphs are organized with Patch 2.0 on top, and the sorting is kept the same throughout. The 1% Lows are underneath the AVG FPS.

4K

With the Radeon RX 9070 XT, we are starting with the 4K Native Resolution results, but we will also show 1440p below. As you can see, at 4K the Radeon RX 9070 XT does not have enough performance at Native Resolution to provide a playable experience. The other thing to notice is that the average performance is the same between both patched versions. However, the 1% Lows do fall with the new Patch 2.0. Patch 2.0 has 8% lower 1% Lows. Again, as we mentioned on the previous page, the visuals are different here with Patch 2.0. The foliage is noticeably denser and looks better.

Enabling FSR 4 on the Radeon RX 9070 XT at 4K helps a lot, but still isn’t enough to bring it up to 60FPS 1% Lows. We also see the same pattern we’ve been seeing: Patch 2.0 is a bit slower, though not as massive as it was on the GeForce RTX GPUs. Here, Patch 2.0 is 1% slower on average and 6% slower on 1% Lows.
1440p

Since 4K was so demanding for the Radeon RX 9070 XT, we dropped down to 1440p Native Resolution as well to test. Well, this is interesting; the opposite result of the GeForce RTX series mostly. Here, Patch 2.0 is actually 2% faster than with the previous patch. Though the 1% Lows fall backwards, just a tad bit. Again, visuals are different. This is also playable on the Radeon RX 9070 XT with 1% Lows at 60FPS, Native Res 1440p works.

Enabling FSR 4 at 1440p really makes performance shine. Also, once again, opposite the GeForce RTX series, the average performance with Patch 2.0 is slightly better by 2%. However, the 1% Lows suffer by being 3% slower.

The Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB allows playable performance at 1080p by average, but the 1% Lows are low. Interestingly, though, the patch version made no difference on this one! Indeed, with Patch 2.0 you get better visuals on the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB, but no performance loss!

When we enable FSR 4 on the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB at 1080p, performance is playable in the game and very smooth. Here we see a very slight reduction in performance with Patch 2.0. The average is 1% slower, and the 1% Lows are 4% slower. Not as much as it was on the GeForce RTX series.
