Storage Test Results
50MB Test Set
in the AHCI read test, we see 452MB/s and 707MB/s in the RAID 0 configuration. USB results were quite good coming in at 386MB/s.
In the 50MB write test, we see a result of 103MB/s from the standalone AHCI volume. The SATA RAID 0 configuration was more than twice as fast coming in at 231MB/s. USB 3.x performance was slightly faster than that.
100MB Test Set
In the 100MB test set, we see a result of 187MB/s from the standalone AHCI volume and 411MB/s in RAID0. 290MB/s for USB, which is quite good.
In the 100MB write test, we saw very odd results with the RAID 0 test achieving extremely high results compared to the other tests. Given the weirdness we’ve seen with this benchmark and this particular board, it may simply be an anomaly. USB performance was almost precisely what we expected, as was the case with the AHCI standalone test.
NVMe Drive Testing
The NVMe results were very consistent across the 50MB, 100MB, and 1000MB test sets. We saw roughly the same 3,560MB/s in all the read tests and approximately 1,540MB/s in the write tests. These numbers are consistent with what the Samsung EVO 970 NVMe drive is rated for, give or take a bit here or there.
