Memory Read
Obviously, at DDR4 3866MHz, the MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon WiFi outstrips the rest of our test systems. It falters just a bit at 3200MHz compared to the Ryzen 9 3900X.
Memory Write
The MSI MPG Z490 delivers here. At both stock and overclocked speeds, it’s faster than the competing 3900X based system and the outgoing 9900K.
Memory Copy
Here, we see excellent numbers from the MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon WiFi. Overclocked, it’s a beast. At stock speeds it’s a good deal faster than the Maximus XI APEX, but still slower than the 3900X equipped ASUS Prime X570.
Sandra Memory Bandwidth
Here, we can see the MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon WiFi achieved a result of 34.15GB/s at stock speeds and 39.44GB/s overclocked.
