Wolfenstein: Youngblood
We are using the latest version of Wolfenstein: Youngblood. The game is running in the Vulkan API and we have the highest in-game setting selected, “Mein leben!.” Our data is gathered using a real-world gaming manual-run-through in the Riverside area.
In Wolfenstein: Youngblood things shift around just a bit. The fastest card is still the XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC II Ultra overclocked at near 90FPS. However, in this game, the GeForce RTX 2070 FE and XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC II Ultra at default and the reference Radeon RX 5700 XT video cards all seem to have similar performance. Those three video cards are neck-and-neck at around 87FPS average with very little deviation.
This time the XFX card isn’t faster than the Radeon RX 5700 XT in this game. Even the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER performs very close at 85FPS. It may just be possible that we are hitting some CPU limitations in this game? I suppose it is possible.
At least this much is known, all video cards are providing 80+ FPS at 1440p in this game at the highest settings. The gameplay is smooth, performance high all-around, each video card provides an excellent gameplay experience. We also do see the overclocked XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC II Ultra pulling ahead with the most performance, so GPU performance can still matter.
