Metro Exodus
In Metro Exodus, we also started out with the highest graphics setting in the game called “Extreme.” This was very much not playable on any video card, even the Radeon RX 5600 XT could not give us playable performance at this extreme game setting at 1080p.
We do see the same pattern as we did in the last game, however. The MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X is 17% faster than the SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB OC video card. When we overclock the video card performance improves by 8%. The factory overclocked XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT is faster by a whopping 27% at default MSI GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X and 17% faster than the overclocked MSI GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X.
Since “Extreme” was so bad on the performance we lowered the game to “Ultra” settings. This was much better, but the SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB OC video card struggled. Only the overclocked MSI GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X and XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT were playable in this setting.
The MSI GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X is 20% faster than the SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB OC video card. Overclocking the video card improves performance by 8%. The XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT is 23% faster than the MSI GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X at default, and 14% faster than the video card overclocked.
