Test Setup

Please read our testing methodologies and benchmarks and review format for an explanation on our procedures.

XFX BIOS

Note that the XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT THICC II Pro is using the latest official BIOS from XFX.  Therefore, it is running at a game clock of 1560MHz and a memory of 12GHz.  This is the latest official specification of this video card and represents the performance XFX wants to provide with this video card when you upgrade to this BIOS.  All new shipping cards will use this BIOS.

For overclocking we are using our highest stable overclock found in this review.  The final overclock is 1763MHz GPU and 14.8GHz memory.

Game Setup

In all games, we run in either DX12 or Vulkan API if possible.  In Red Dead Redemption 2, Metro Exodus, Gears 5 and The Division 2 we use the built-in benchmark runs.  In Call of Duty Modern Warfare, we perform a manual run-through at the beginning of the campaign run.  In Need for Speed Heat, we perform a manual run-through in the open world of the game driving through the city and up into the mountains.
